What SceneLock is
SceneLock lets two people confirm the exact terms of a deal, timestamp that agreement, and keep a record neither party can quietly edit afterward. By creating an account or using a deal link, you agree to these terms.
What SceneLock is not
SceneLock is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not guarantee that a court or any other authority will enforce a locked deal, a jurisdiction clause, or any term recorded here. SceneLock does not currently hold, transmit, or guarantee any payment between parties. A locked deal is a record of what was agreed, not a promise that either party will follow through.
Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter into a deal and for keeping access to your email, since that's how you sign in. You're responsible for the terms you propose, agree to, or attach as a document. SceneLock does not review, verify, or approve deal terms before they're locked.
Free tier and subscriptions
New accounts get 3 free deals. Reviewing and responding to a deal someone sends you is always free, regardless of your plan. Continuing to create deals past the free limit requires a paid subscription, billed monthly, cancelable at any time through your account. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not delete or alter any deal already locked.
Files you upload
You're responsible for anything you attach to a deal, contracts or delivery evidence, and for having the right to share it with the other party. Files are stored privately and only accessible to the two people on that specific deal, except profile pictures, which are public by design.
Disputes between users
If a deal goes wrong, SceneLock provides a mechanism to flag it and generates a timestamped summary. SceneLock does not mediate, judge, or resolve disputes between users, and is not a party to any deal made through it.
Limitation of liability
SceneLock is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, SceneLock is not liable for losses arising from a deal made through the platform, from another user's conduct, or from reliance on any record, timestamp, or summary generated here.
Changes
These terms may be updated as SceneLock adds features, including escrow in the future. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
